Mayor and Deputy Mayor at Thorne-Moorends Town Council.

At its Annual Meeting on 17th May 2011 the Town Council elected Councillor Bert Maurice Chowings as Mayor and Councillor Rachel Durant as Deputy Mayor.

In his acceptance speech at the Annual Council meeting on 17th May 2011 the Mayor thanked fellow Councillors for their confidence in allowing him the honour of representing the people of Thorne and Moorends as Mayor. The Mayor promised that with the assistance of Councillors and guidance from the Clerk he would endevour to continue the advancement of the Council. He thanked the outgoing Mayor Cllr. Tony Brookes for all his efforts during his term of office.
