Comments: I was born in Warren Rd, South Common Thorne in 1959 and went to Green Top then Senior GIrls for 1 year before going to Grammar. Left Thorne when i was 14 and moved to Rossington. I am now a teacher living in Cheshire. I go back to Thorne every cuple of months to visit family and friends...Thorne ha changed so much, but i still feel like i belong there!
Comments: I have been doing my family tree and traced my 6x great grandfather back to 1789 in Thorne. James Raywood b.1789 in Thorne. He married Ava Hoyland b.1795 from London. I know there are still Raywoods living in Thorne today so if anyone has any further information on this family it would be very much appreciated. Also the Matchetts and Hepworths. Comments: Found this web page by chance, very interesting to see what has changed. I was born in Thorne in 1957 and left in 1983 emergrating to Australia. Thorne gave me a good grounding. Loved my childhood and teenage years.

Comments: Really enjoyed reading the content of the website. Whilst searching the internet for a relative living in the area in the 1800's, Google directed me here. What a find ! I haven't visited Thorne for a number of years, perhaps it's time to put that right. My relative was John Foulds m.Martha Hinchliff,3rd July 1826 in Thorne, his occupation was waterman.

Comments: Hello, I lived in Thorne from 1961 to 1969, from aged 4 to 12. I attended Fieldside Infants, Junior and Senior schools.I visited last in 1998 to see elderly relatives when I was doing a degree at Sheffield.My Aunts and Uncles have all since died.I often think of pals from school and where they are now. Michael Goucher, Michael Carver, David Queen...It wuold be nice to visit again and meet my pals of yesteryear.
Comments: I'm trying to contact Pamela Daniels(as was then). She lived in Thorne until at least 1966. We were friends until the RAF requested my presence in the Middle East in 1964.
