B3 SK8 CLUB

Local young people have been involved in the project from the start and have already set up the B3 SK8 Club. A keen skater from Thorne Grammar School, Sean Cubbing said, “I have been to many different skatepark's but they are a long way away and this one should be great for local kids.”

David Elliott who has been involved in the project since the beginning said, “ We have been trying to get this skatepark for several years, so please join the club and get involved and I appeal to the minority not to spoil it for the rest by mindless vandalism.”

CLUB RULES

Details of the next meeting of the Club will be posted at Thorne Grammar School. All users of the skatepark will be required to be members of the B3 SK8 Club or another recognised club – rules attached.

Code of Conduct

All ´club´ members must adhere to these rules at all times when using the Skate Park, for the safety of yourself and others.

Weather Conditions

Bikers and skateboarders please be aware of the weather conditions DO NOT use the skate park if the ramps are wet or icy. (If the ramps are slippery from rain or ice they will not have enough grip.)

Also

Bikers! If you have to travel across grassed areas to get to the skate park Remember please DO NOT use the track if the ground is muddy (as this will transfer mud onto the track and make the ramps slippery and dangerous for other users.)

Skate Park

Please have no more than 5 people using the park at any one time.

Spectators and people waiting to use the skate park please DO NOT under any circumstances stand on the jumps and ramps whilst there are people using the track.

If you see any glass, needles or other discarded items on the track Please DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REMOVE THEM YOURSELF, move yourself and others away from the area and report the situation to the Council, by calling this number: 01405 812092.

There are bins provided for litter so please keep the area tidy. If you see any damage on the ramps such as chipped coping, please ring 01405 812092 to report it.

Equipment

Please use correct equipment at a minimum this should be a helmet, wrist guards and knee pads.

Conduct and Publicity

All members should be polite and considerate to other users of the Wyke Gate Recreation Ground. Committee members and advanced members! remember you have a responsibility to ensure the correct use of the skate park and to assist other members.
