60th ANNIVERSARY OF VE DAY SUNDAY 8th May 2005.

The service, held in the Memorial Park Thorne, was one of a series of events around Britain to commemorate VE Day - proclaimed on May 8, 1945.The Vice Lord Lieutenant of South Yorkshire Peter Lee Esq. attended by a Gurkha Troop took the Salute at 12.00 at the War Memorial
